Princess Kate’s event could be overshadowed by TWO royals – and it’s not Meghan and Harry

The event is set to take place within weeks, but here’s the two royals I think that shouldn’t be on the guest list.

As the weather gets colder and the nights get darker, most people begin to think about everything Christmas-related. However, for most royal fans, their minds tend to drift to Princess Catherine’s yearly festive event.

Since 2021, The Princess of Wales has hosted her very own “Royal Carols: Together at Christmas” service, held at Westminster Abbey. Each year, the service tends to be held in the first week of December, with the aim of celebrating those who have made a real impact in their communities.

The concert is a success every year, resulting in plenty of praise for the princess, who is often accompanied by her husband Prince William and their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

The princess also has other members of the Royal Family present at the event, with many stepping out to support the future Queen.

While it is always nice to see the royals come together, I fear that Catherine’s big carol event this year could be overshadowed if two particular royals are present. And no, I’m not talking about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Over the years, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie – the disgraced Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s daughters – have both attended the event, with Beatrice, 37, present most years.

However, I think it’s safe to say that they should probably not be on the guest list this year.

While they are not involved in their father’s scandals, and have not lost their royal titles like their parents have, Beatrice and Eugenie’s attendance could actually overshadow the event.

Since Andrew has dominated the royal spotlight and plunged the Royal Family into a crisis over the last few months, Beatrice and Eugenie’s every move has been watched. Whether they are driving into Royal Lodge, walking down a London road or attending an event, they have had the cameras on them. It is probably the most attention they have ever actually received, especially as they are non-working royals.

So while they may want to attend a festive and happy evening at Westminster Abbey full of carols, is it a wise idea? Probably not.

Princess Catherine works hard for months to make sure the concert is a success and praises those in society who deserve recognition. This is what the headlines should be focused on.

However, if Beatrice and Eugenie attend, it may well be yet another royal event that is somehow tarnished by mention of Andrew’s scandals. While I don’t think the princesses should be penalised for the actions of their father, I do think it will be best for them to give the event a miss this year and let Catherine, and her hard work, be the focus of the evening.
