Two royal journalists have revealed the one-word nickname used to describe Princess Anne as she enters a new year of royal duties.

Roya Nikkhah and Kate Mansey, both journalists for The Times, said that the nickname given to the Princess Royal, 74, was “workhorse” given how many royal duties she undertakes.
Their comment came as they discussed Anne’s appearance in South Africa to lay wreaths and talk to members of equine-related organisations.
On the subject of Anne’s nickname, and the accident last year that resulted in a hospital stay for the popular royal, they said: “She’s also, for the first time really, opened up about the accident that put her in hospital with concussion last summer.
“The Princess Royal says she still recalls nothing about the incident on her Gatcombe Park estate that led to her five-night stay in hospital. She’s been speaking to the press on her trip to South Africa.
“When she was asked about retirement, in true Anne style she replied: ‘It isn’t really an option’. Not for Anne, always called the hardest working royal.
