King Charles to receive ‘special birthday present’ from George, Charlotte and Louis
King Charles III is set to celebrate his 77th birthday today and one former royal butler believes the monarch will receive some heartwarming gifts from his grandchildren
King Charles III is set to celebrate his birthday by enjoying a touching surprise organised by his grandchildren, a former royal butler has claimed.
The King turns 77 today, Friday, but marked his official birthday in June with the Trooping the Colour parade and the traditional RAF flypast.
According to former royal butler Grant Harrold, the Prince and Princess of Wales ’s three children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis — are expected to give their grandfather a “special present” along with handmade birthday cards.
He said: “Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis will definitely have a special present for their Grandpa. I think they might make him homemade cards as well, which all grandparents love to receive.
“Kate and William love doing arts and crafts with the children, so I expect they will make something extra special. We’ve seen previous examples of them making Mother’s Day cards for Kate, so I think homemade cards are a big part of royal birthdays now.”

King Charles and George
In 2023, King Charles also received a “meaningful” birthday gift from his younger grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, who live in California with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
According to The Telegraph, Archie and Lilibet recorded a special video message singing “Happy Birthday” to their grandfather for his 75th birthday.
King Charles is no stranger to sending birthday gifts to his grandchildren, as well as receiving them. One year, Prince George received a rather extraordinary gift worth £18,000 from the King.
The young royal was given a fancy Wendy house to play in at his grandfather’s home for his first birthday, which remains in the garden of Prince Charles’s Highgrove estate.
Both Kate and William have previously expressed their love of arts and crafts with their children. During their visit to the National Federation of Women’s Institutes in London in September, the couple spent time chatting with WI members, who asked about their children.

Kate said she and her kids — Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7 — spent their summer “crafting in every corner of the house.” She also spoke with the women about her beekeeping hobby and the importance of “making and crafting” in forming community with others.
The Princess, who has an undergraduate degree in art history, helped George and Charlotte make handmade gifts for their Gan-Gan. William told Radio 1 that George and Charlotte had made handmade gifts for the late Queen for her 91st birthday.
But Kate was quick to quip, “Are you taking credit for the arts and crafts?” William, looking quite sheepish, replied: “This is putting the marriage on the line.”
